„YOU’RE NOT LIKE THE OTHER GIRLS”
You're not like the other girls – A feminist art project at BasementArt by LichTraum
In cooperation with the association FERÈ – consisting of the artists Vera Martina Glawitsch, Inga Pernes, Julie Jaksch and Lena Edlinger – Sonia Siblik presents a one-week feminist art project full of power, creativity and communal expression in the art space BasementArt.
Supported by guest artists Nadine Schuller, Iva Marković, and Sofya, the space will be transformed into a vibrant center for exchange, reflection, and empowerment from June 26 to July 3, 2025. The goal of this project is to make female perspectives visible, encourage reflection on gender roles, and make artistic empowerment tangible.
The focus is on themes such as the "male gaze," self-image and the body, ideals of beauty, vulnerability, strength, and feminist solidarity. The exhibition features a variety of works—paintings, textile and mixed media objects, and feminist texts—extended through performative and participatory formats.
Visitors are invited to actively participate: whether through open studios with stimulus questions, creative workshops, or discussions. This creates a space where art is not only viewed, but also experienced, shared, and co-created.

Program highlights:
26.6. Opening with performance by the association FERÈ (6:30 p.m.)
June 28th Workshop "Painting as Self-Empowerment" with Inga Pernes
June 29th Linocut workshop "Female Power Symbol" with Nadine Schuller
2.7. Body painting as empowerment with Lena Edlinger
3.7. Finissage with performance by Sofya and reading by Iva Marković
The exhibition is open daily with changing formats, open studios, and stimulus questions. Details on workshops and registration will be announced separately.
This project aims to raise awareness, connect and inspire – for a vibrant, feminine now.
Location: BasementArt by LichTraum, 1090 Vienna
Das Projekt wird durch die Stimmen der Vereinsmitglieder getragen – und durch inspirierende Gastkünstlerinnen ergänzt, die mit ihren eigenen Positionen zum gemeinsamen Dialog beitragen.
