Caravana Cultural Playense 2025 – Cooperation with LichTraum by Sonia Siblik

From September 1 to 20, 2025, the Caravana Cultural Europa will bring an extraordinary cultural program from Playa del Carmen (Quintana Roo, Mexico) to Europe. Organized by the Compañía de Espectáculos "El Tren sin Fin" in collaboration with the Asociación Cultural Nicteha de Molina, the festival brings together a variety of artistic disciplines: dance, music, theater, literature, and the visual arts.

Following the resounding success of its first edition with over 1,000 participants, Caravana is now taking place in Spain for the second time and, for the first time, in other European countries. The goal is to create a platform for exchange that strengthens understanding and appreciation of Latin American culture – through performances, exhibitions, concerts, and workshops.

A special highlight in Vienna is the workshop “Son Jarocho – Music and Dance from Veracruz, Mexico”, which takes place in cooperation with LichTraum by Sonia Siblik:

Son Jarocho is a popular musical tradition from Veracruz that combines indigenous, African, and Spanish influences. It is characterized by cheerful rhythms, improvised verses, and the zapateado, a dance in which the steps themselves become percussion on the wooden platform.

The workshops take place in parallel, with the exception of the Zapateado.
