An exhibition about the cultural dialogue between Japan and Austria
This exhibition brings together three unique artistic positions inspired by the culture and aesthetics of Japan - one of the most fascinating countries in Asia. The artists Tonia Kos, Linde Waber and Naoko Muneoka invite visitors on a journey to the Far East and interpret their impressions of the country in a variety of ways.
On display are monumental black and white paper kimonos, impressive banners, masterful color woodcuts and oil paintings with unique structures that transform the perception of the works. But the question arises: love of culture or cultural appropriation? Clearly: love of culture! The three artists demonstrate in a respectful way how cultural exchange can take place between Austria and Japan - with deep knowledge and appreciation of both countries.
