Four classmates

Four classmates – four paths, one common origin

There are encounters in life that extend far beyond the moment. People cross our path, accompany us for a while, shape our view of the world, and leave traces that remain visible even after many years. Friendships often develop quietly – in shared experiences, in conversations, in learning, in failure, and in mutual growth.

The exhibition “Four Classmates” tells the story of such a connection. Four artists from Slovakia, who once shared the same spaces, asked the same questions about art, and took their first creative steps together, meet again after many years in an artistic dialogue.

The paths they have taken since then could hardly be more different. Each of them developed their own visual language, found individual forms of expression, and gathered experiences that have profoundly shaped their work. And yet, something unites them that time has not been able to erase: the memory of a shared beginning.

Friendships are like rivers. Sometimes they flow side by side for long periods, sometimes their paths diverge, only to reunite later. They nourish our development, provide inspiration, and often accompany us invisibly through the various chapters of our lives. Many of the people we meet in our youth contribute to who we become later in life—as artists, as individuals, and as members of a community.

This exhibition is therefore more than just a presentation of artworks. It is a tribute to the power of shared experiences, to remembering, to reunions, and to the invisible threads that connect people across decades.

Because some things fade with time. But true friendship remains – transformed into memories, stories, and works that tell of a shared journey and shine far beyond it. ✨
