Identity in transition

Three artistic perspectives on migration, memory and belonging

Sofia Andretta Juárez | Marco Grajeda | Francisco Osorio Faber

Migration means far more than simply changing location. Those who leave their country of origin take memories, cultural influences, and personal stories with them. At the same time, a process of reorientation begins, in which familiar things are questioned and new forms of belonging emerge.

What happens to our identity when we leave our familiar surroundings? How much of the person we once were remains? And how does living between different cultures change us?

The search for answers to these questions accompanies many people who relocate their lives to another country. Identity, however, is not static. It evolves with our experiences, our encounters, and the decisions we make throughout our lives.

In the exhibition "Between Worlds – Identity in Flux," three artists explore their personal experiences of change and adaptation. Sofía Andretta Juárez, Marco Grajeda, and Francisco Osorio Faber, through their diverse artistic expressions, offer insights into individual processes of grappling with origins, memory, and life in a new environment.
